Candle Care 101: Tips to Make Your Candles Last Longer
Extending the Life of Your Candles
Proper candle care ensures you get the most out of your purchase. By following a few simple tips, you can prolong the life of your candles and enjoy their beauty and fragrance for longer. Here’s how to make the most of your Kaind candles.
The Importance of the First Burn
The first time you light your candle, it’s crucial to let it burn long enough for the entire surface to melt evenly. This helps prevent tunneling, where only the center of the wax melts, leaving unused wax along the sides of the container. For the best results, allow your candle to burn for at least one hour per inch of its diameter.
Regular Wick Trimming
As discussed in our previous blog, trimming the wick before each use is essential. A properly trimmed wick ensures a cleaner, more efficient burn, reducing soot and extending the candle’s life. Aim to keep the wick trimmed to about 1/4 inch.
Avoid Drafts
Candles burn best in a stable environment. If a candle is placed in a drafty area, it can cause uneven burning and excessive soot. To avoid this, keep your candles away from open windows, vents, and fans.
Proper Storage
To maintain the quality of your candles, store them in a cool, dark place when not in use. Exposure
